What is a Constant Modulating Valve
Learn more about the FBCPM valve - the applications, benefits and size range. In addition to UHT and HTST applications, the CPM valve is an ideal choice for automating constant pressure set points in heat exchangers, separators, and CIP/SIP systems of filling processes.
Dairy and juice processing demands highly controlled operations to meet regulations and maintain food safety standards. Pasteurization techniques including High Temperature, Short Time (HTST) and Ultra High Temperature (UHT) pasteurization, for example, require specific temperature and residence times that maintain flavors while eliminating harmful organisms.
Varying product viscosities and flow can cause upsets in the process leading to product quality concerns. Constant pressure modulating (CPM) valves or Constant Pressure Valves (CPV) are used to maintain accurate pressure control to compensate for process upsets and keep downtime to a minimum.
THE FBCPM SERIES
Steriflow’s FB CPM valves are air loaded, allowing the user to change set-points remotely via a panel-mounted air regulator, or through a distributed control system of PLC, using an I-P transducer. Designs come in both inlet pressure control and outlet pressure control in sizes from 3/4″ to 2″ and are 3A certified. In addition to UHT and HTST, the FB CPM valve is an ideal choice for automating constant pressure setpoints to control operations in heat exchangers, separators, CIP/SIP systems or filling processes.
